Micro-punctures are made by hand in the area of the deepest wrinkles or skin changes, as well as with a needle-pen system for the broader areas of the facial skin. During the treatment, a specially designed and patented solution is applied to the skin surface and subsequently absorbed.

Like all cosmetic treatment procedures, microneedling also carries risks. The most common side effect is a slight irritation of the skin that occurs immediately after the procedure. Minor bleeding occurs only rarely.
A microneedling treatment is not advisable in the following cases:
Microneedling has established itself not only as an anti-aging method, it also helps with many kinds of skin problems. These include, among others, large-pored or oily skin, couperose (fine visible veins showing through), pigmentation spots, scars, acne, stretch marks and visible sun damage.
To achieve an optimal result with micro-needling, we recommend at least 3–5 treatments at intervals of about 3–4 weeks. The result then lasts up to 3 years. With sunken scars, the result is permanent.
Microneedling is an effective and safe treatment method for improving the skin's appearance and in particular for treating skin changes such as scars (acne scars), burn scars, wrinkles as well as age-related changes in the face and décolleté area and pigmentation.
After microneedling the skin looks firmer and fuller and the overall complexion improves – resulting in a visible anti-aging effect.
If there are skin infections caused by viruses or bacteria, or acne, a treatment is not advisable. Unlike ablative procedures such as dermabrasion, peelings or laser treatments, microneedling strengthens the skin and does not reduce its thickness.
Usually the skin is reddened or slightly swollen after the treatment. In some patients, pinpoint, tiny bleedings may also occur, which however heal quickly. Occasionally, mild bruising is also possible.
The first results are usually visible after approx. 3–6 weeks – this is the window in which the skin texture begins to refine and the appearance of pores starts to reduce. The skin goes through a regeneration phase.
Most patients feel only a slight tingling or gentle pressure on the skin during the treatment. Overall, microneedling is therefore not painful. The treatment duration varies depending on the area and individual needs and usually lies between 40 and 60 minutes.

If your skin is very sensitive or you suffer from active acne, it's better to refrain from the microneedling treatment. The procedure is likewise not recommended for sore or inflamed skin, rashes, herpes or rosacea/couperose.
Medical microneedling does not thin the skin, unlike so-called skin-ablating (ablative) treatment methods: laser, dermabrasion or peeling. Quite the opposite – the skin becomes up to 140 % thicker and thus more resilient to ageing processes and external environmental influences.
On the first day the skin is reddened and slightly swollen; within the next three days the redness disappears and the skin may flake. The visible healing process is complete after 7 days. The skin then continues to heal for another 21 days, although this is no longer visible.
